GitHub is looking for a full-time Business Systems Engineer to join our Business Systems team to implement, scale, and expand our business systems and technology.

As a Business Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for building and integrating with internal systems, tools, and scripts that support every day workflows of GitHubbers (HR tools, Legal scripts, Internal Communications platform, animated gif generators, and others).

Integrate business systems third party solutions and in-house products to upgrade and maintain GitHub's HR, Legal, Internal Communications, and Learning & Development platforms with a focus on reliability and quality end-user experience.
Partner closely with Business Systems managers to automate manual business processes.
Build and maintain a highly-available and reliable platform for other GitHubbers to build their own tools they might need to do their work efficiently.
Collaborate with Security, Compliance, HR, Legal, Internal Communications, and Learning & Development teams to build, maintain, and improve integrations between GitHub's systems.
Build, deploy, and iterate to help scale GitHub's operations.
Experience working on the backend of a web application and integration with multiple services via an API layer.
3+ years experience in Ruby on Rails OR 1+ years in Ruby on Rails and 3+ years in general web development (full-stack, backend).
Strong problem solving skills (critical, strategic and evaluative thinking).
Ability to work with all levels of stakeholders.
Ability to comfortably manage confidential data.
Optimistic outlook and perseverance when working with 3rd party tools.
Successful working in a fast-paced, agile software development environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with and inclination to building products driven by business processes.
Experience leading successful internal tools projects.
Experience maintaining and integrating HRIS, Payroll, Benefits systems and integrations and tooling for these systems.
Familiarity with SSO, SAML, LDAP.
iOS development experience
Experience working with a distributed team across timezones.
