Full Time: Full Stack Web Developer at Mitre Media in Toronto, Ontario

We are looking for a Web Developer to join our team of web developers in a role that is key to shipping user-facing code on a daily basis.

"Users" for us, as a financial media company, are visitors to our web properties who deeply engage in our investor content and tools across seven domains - Dividend.com, ETFdb.com and MutualFunds.com to name a few.

Web developers work with cross-functional team members to clarify deliverables; develop, document and test new product features and bug fixes; and review peer written code and provide constructive feedback.

Responsibilities


Writing standards-compliant code for websites, web applications, and mobile solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails.


Test driven development for both front-end and back-end code.


Ensure smooth integration between front/back end code by working closely with a team of developers and QA.
Establish and document design and UX standards for common components for reuse across all applications.
Collaborate with team members: subject matter experts, graphic designers, and developers to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the design solution.


Required Skills


Know Git and use it regularly.


Familiarity with Rails or a similar framework.


Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and libraries that support efficient web development (beyond jQuery) - e.g.

React, Backbone etc.


JSON and XML API experience a plus.


Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment a plus.


Familiarity with JavaScript-related and CSS-related browser compatibility issues a plus.


Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.


Strong attention to detail.

Compensation And Benefits Information: Full-time employment salary ranges from $50-$65/hour depending on experience.
