Candidates must have 7+ years significant software development experience in high traffic environment with 3+ years in a senior or team lead role.

The Lead JavaScript Engineer will develop and design web applications, APIs, and web sites and create and specify architectural and technical parameters.

Lead design and build of our messaging backbone, authentication/authorization, and React-based UX platforms as a start.

Play a key role in creating other new high performance systems and APIs serving up content across the globe.


Live and breathe front-end and back-end JavaScript frameworks (React, Redux, Node, Express, Koa, etc.)
Experience leading web engineering team in a fast-paced Agile and GitFlow driven environment
Extensive experience building complex applications using object-oriented JavaScript (ES6/TypeScript)
Experience building APIs for sophisticated distributed platforms using modern JavaScript tool chain (NodeJS, Swagger, Socket.io, Gulp, Webpack, etc.)
Experience implementing services and message-based loosely coupled architectures in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
Demonstrable understanding of advanced CSS3, SASS/LESS, and how they can be used to build modular, reusable stylesheets
Experience writing unit tests and using standard Web testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, etc.)
Experience implementing continuous delivery / automated ops pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCi, Github, Docker, etc.)


PHP, Python, Java, Golang or other language experience
Experience with implementing monitoring and instrumentation tools (New Relic, Datadog, etc.)
Experience in designing data persistence and caching systems using both SQL and NoSQL DBMS and
caching technologies (MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, MemCached, etc.)
Familiarity with video streaming technologies such as RTMP, WebRTC, HLS, HTML Video Players
Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
