SOFTWARE DEVELOPER AND INTEGRATOR (SDI)

Position Description Summary:

The Software Developer and Integrator (SDI ) position will be engaged in all phases of the software development lifecycle that include; gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, responding to outages and creating application system models.

SDI’s primary functions will be to design, develop, document, test and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications for internal use, perform defect corrections (analysis, design, and code).

This position participates in design and coding activities with other staff members, conceptualizing functional requirements, architectural approaches, integration methodology and application and infrastructure design guidance to deliver high-quality and timely solutions and services that continuously meet online business needs.

Job Duties:

Design and develop new systems with an emphasis on minimized maintenance requirements.

End-user interfacing for the purpose of design and implementation of new systems and trouble-shoot problems with existing systems.

Provide technical input to other areas and gather technical data from outside organizations.

Identify, propose and develop innovative solutions to improve system performance and availability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Eight (8) years of software development and support experience.
Additional experience may be considered as a substitution for the minimum education requirements.
Experience working with Scrum or other Agile development processes.
Experience with one or more common databases and / or data modeling tools (e.g.

Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, TOAD ).
Experience with either Linux and / or Windows operating systems.
Full stack development (e.g.

PHP , JavaScript, HTML , CSS , SQL , JSON , Java and / or C#).
Experience with front-end JavaScript based technologies (e.g.

Ajax, Angular.js) and with one or more real-time communication (e.g.

RESTful APIs, WebServices, WebSockets).
Experience coordinating, planning and organizing upgrades of systems and technology.
Understanding of data security and best practices for balancing availability with security.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with one or more unit-test frameworks / UI test automation (e.g.

PHPUnit, NUnit, JUnit Selenium).
Languages/Frameworks: (e.g.

Ruby on Rails, AngularJS).
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills and ability to establish good working relationships with a wide range of people within an academic community.
Project and time management skills with abilities of effectively managing competing priorities.
Technical knowledge of various platforms to ensure applications and infrastructure stacks are current and supported.

Monthly Pay Range: Commensurate with Experience
