The National Pork Board, located in Clive, IA, is seeking a web developer to join our development team.
As a member of the development team, you will work on a variety of projects including; existing and new web applications, customer-focused websites, new mobile applications, and staff-centric apps.
Requirements for this position include strong problem-solving, trouble-shooting, and communication skills.
Individual should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Additionally, the following skills are desired:
Expertise with HTML and CSS
Proficient with CSS preprocessing using Sass/LESS or similar tech
Fundamental knowledge of HTTP protocol
Knowledge of responsive web design and/or progressive enhancement design
Experience utilizing cross-browser compatibility techniques
Web performance optimization
Familiarity with Bootstrap
Experience consuming REST and JSON APIs.
If you know how to build them, even better!
Working with third party APIs
Knowledge of Git version control system and workflow
Understanding of CMS-driven, template-based website architecture
DB experience (MS SQL Server, MySQL, other)
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented design and MVC pattern
Experience developing in AGILE methodology using Scrum and Kanban
