Patient Engagement Advisors: Healthcare Software Architect

Engagement Advisors (PEA) is seeking a Director/Principal
Software Architect to join our growing team. The Director/Principal
Software Architect Interoperability plays a vital role in each guiding
principle of our creed and obtaining the goals of the vision/mission of PEA.  The
Director/Principal Software Architect is responsible for managing Patient
Engagement Advisors’ integration architecture and implementation of integration
with PEA clients.  The team member in
this role will be responsible for creating the web services integration
architecture to provide efficient integration from client interfaces into the
PEA platform.

This team member will work closely with the CTO and the rest of
the PEA technical team to create and implement a platform development strategy
and architecture.Requirements:•          Bachelors
degree in related field or equivalent work experience.  Masters degree preferred.•          5+
year’s experience in application development encompassing design, development,
maintenance, support, and enhancement of applications.•          5+
years application development experience using middleware technology such as
Informatica, Talend, or interface engine required.•          5+ years application development
experience using SQL programming required.•          5+
years application development experience working with Java, or in a .NET
environment a plus.

•          Experience with point-of-sale system
integration a plus.•          Experience with pharmacy information
systems a plusKnowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:•          Knowledge
of HL7, NCPDP, electronic health care systems, and X12 transactions is
required.•          Knowledge
of XML, SOAP, Rest, and JSON web services design and development.•          Knowledge
in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).•          Strong
oral and written communication skills.•          Strong
problem solving skills.•          Must
be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as on small teams, and
be able to lead small teams.•          Must
be able to follow policies and procedures and department software development
•          Design and develop JSON web services
on PEA’s in-house software platform in order to accept HL7 and other messages
from PEA clients.•          Create interfaces between clients and
the PEA IT platform.  •          Code interface programs per defined
specifications requirements.

Design, develop and configure all required
components of the interface engine for building interfaces.•          Establish communication set up in
interface engines between receiving and sending systems, including VPN
connectivity.•          Coordinate updates, upgrades and
maintenance tasks for interface engine for optimal performance and

•          Provide technical documentation for
the PEA integration environment including the message flow for each interface,
multiple schema design for interfaces, and performance metrics.

•          With input from the Chief Technology
Officer and other senior staff, collaborate with Integration Analysts to
develop data integration solutions to meet the business needs and requirements
of customer requests/projects.

Propose technical solutions to solve integration
related issues.•          Perform on-call duties as required
responding and resolving help desk tickets and alerts  •          Conduct thorough unit and
integrated testing, working with client interface staff.•          Develop test data sets and testing
scenarios to enable effective, repeatable interface testing of new client
interfaces.•          Assist in troubleshooting
interface engine log errors as needed.•          Assist with developing and
establishing coding standards for the integration team.•          Participate in the selection of PEA’s
overall platform tools, including ESB, integration engine, ETL tool, and Master
Data Management platform.•          Manage/oversee cross training and
provide mentoring for supporting Interface Developers on interface
configuration, coding and technical knowledge of interface engines.
