The position is a full time six month contract position with a potential to hire full time after six months at which time company benefits will be available (health insurance, 401k, paid holidays and PTO).MUTTS is a brand with followers so loyal they tattoo us on their skin — literally! Drawn by award-winning cartoonist Patrick McDonnell, the MUTTS comic strip appears in over 700 newspapers in 20 countries.
MUTTS has been described by Peanuts creator Charles Schulz as “One of the best comic strips of all time.”We’re looking for an energetic, fun-loving Senior Designer to join our team in overhauling the MUTTS.com website and creating various branded product collections from start to finish for our accompanying ecommerce site.The ideal candidate will be a Jane- or Jack-of-all-trades type of designer with high skill levels in both product design and UI/UX website design.
The Senior Designer should be able to combine user experience principles and visual design to build intuitive and attractive websites, mobile applications, and other digital experiences.
This person will also execute the seasonal design development process from concept to delivery by creating original, trend-appropriate design concepts that are on-brand, meet audience needs, and drive sales — and ensure the timely execution of each stage in the development process.UI/UX ResponsibilitiesEvaluate/audit user experience flows and provide actionable suggestions for optimization.Design web-based interfaces for our brand website — which includes an ecommerce site — and mobile sites, taking into consideration all aspects of the user experience.A deep understanding of how typography and images in design can be used to communicate clearly and create a specific user experience.Possess a thorough understanding of how to best optimize and design interface elements (like buttons and dropdown lists) or navigation components (like search fields and tags) or informational items (like user response messages and progress bars).Remain well-versed in best practices for usability and accessibility.
