Wilson College: Web Developer/Content Manager

(Chambersburg, PA) Wilson College is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Web Developer/Content Manager within the Marketing and Communications department.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Marketing and Communications, the Web Developer/Content Manager will provide oversight of the Wilson website, manage the implementation of web content, provide best SEO practices, monitor site analytics and collaboratively develop the College’s web strategy.

The Web Developer/Content Manager will work with academic and administrative offices to provide editorial content services, CMS development, documentation and training, implementation and outstanding customer service, while identifying opportunities for the College to communicate its brand messages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Training content contributors on the use of content management systems, including news and calendar applications.Performing day-to-day website maintenance, managing and troubleshooting any issues with the CMS.Writing and editing web content and developing supporting multimedia, including photos and video for websites.Working with faculty/faculty assistants to write and update departmental and profile web pages.Ensuring adherence to web policies and College branding standards.Ongoing assessment, analysis and reporting of Wilson website analytics for opportunities to improve performance and meet goals.

COMPETENCY: Minimum experience requires fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.Comprehensive understanding and experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL.Experience with: - HTML5, CSS3, JQuery - developing sites with Drupal, WordPress and Bootstrap - responsive web design - mobile technologies and platforms, and/or application development - tracking, organizing and interpreting site metrics for lay audiences - site and landing page SEO - setting up/working with cPanel hosts on a VPSAbility to use PHP and JavascriptDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and program complex websitesKnowledge of web accessibility standards.Strong attention to detail and deadlines.Ability to work quickly and under pressure.A basic understanding of a college environment.

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, web design, or 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience is required.
