Full Time: Business Analyst, Information Technology (New York, New York) at Cultural Vistas in New York, NY

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Project Management - Coordinates and liaises between IT and other departments by gathering and recording technical specifications; scheduling and directing work and resources, and managing scope within the project to ensure successful project understanding and delivery Analyzes requirements gathered and determines gaps in technology, business processes; constructs workflow charts and diagrams; studies system capabilities and writing specifications Devises and documents a general system design based on the programs anticipated requirements Leads development projects in collaboration with developers and IT Director Uses appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope and schedule Prepares reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software Provides reference for users by writing and maintaining user documentations; provides help desk and end user training Guides team development efforts towards successful project delivery Collaborates with developers, testing/QA team in the development of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test plans and execution of UAT Builds strong relationship/rapport with cross-functional program teams Assesses opportunities for application and processes improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties Communicates complex technology concepts to a non-technology audience clearly and effectively Builds strong relationship/rapport with cross-functional team Professional Development - Develops and maintains industry knowledge by seeking out educational workshops, classes, and related publications Supports on-going communication to all appropriate staff as it pertains to initiatives and new and existing business Takes a proactive approach to improve business functions and workflow within departments Works in accordance with the mission, goals, values, and strategic direction of Cultural Vistas Skills and Abilities Required: Strong project management / time management skills Ability to manage complex projects involving multiple technologies relating to applications, databases, servers, storage, multi-media, networking, and telecommunications Ability to communicate effectively with technical specialists Ability to translate technical language into non-technical terms and vice versa Strong leadership qualities, proactive and collaborative with the ability to serve as an effective role-model Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, remain organized, and make decisions in a fast- paced, deadline sensitive environment Strong critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking Ability to effectively handle ambiguity by creating focus and direction for oneself Ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight while providing guidance and support to others Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing, with supervisors, colleagues, external stakeholders and people of all backgrounds Honest, direct and transparent communication regardless of the message Ability to seek and use input from peers when necessary before making decisions Commitment to professionalism and professional development Interest in and commitment to the mission of Cultural Vistas Foreign language skills a plus Computer Equipment and Software Experience Required: Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite products…
